I have an S3 on which I have removed the rack so it is on the bench. There seems to be some roughness in the movement of it - I've removed the bottom bearing and it seems to be OK - outer bush - seems OK - any ideas ??

The steering rod on the left hand side also seems stiff in some directions - is this just a case of pententrating oil to clean it up and regrease ?

Thanks Dave I seen your thread earlier and was hoping you might still have a bush. Do you want to sell one ?
If so can you email me with a price and I'll reply with my address.

Many thanks

I prefer doing the work myself and want to try and sort it out.

Will strip it completely over the weekend to see what else is wrong. The shaft does not seem to have corroded like yours - there just seems some roughness like a bearing going. But there is no point in stripping it without replacing all bushes/bearings.
