So I have the bonnet off the V8s and just debating where to start.

Is the heating system as poor on the S series as every other TVR?

Two air flow pipes coming from the front nose are going to just the side vents by the look of it?

Yep.

They go to the "eyeball" vents on the centre console. My view was they were a complete waste of time and made the engine bay untidy. I got rid of them and did this. Others have just blanked off the holes in the bulkhead.

It is basic, pure re-circ but can get cabin well snug and cosy.... if everything is working properly, imho.

On my earlier S3 they go to the two "eyeballs" on the centre console... fresh air only.

If you have eyeballs in the footwell kick panels they should be connected to the heater. The problem is that the flap in the heater box that directs air to screen or interior is a poor seal so even on 'max' interior air passes it and takes the route of least resistance out of the screen grilles rather than find its way down a metre or so of convoluted ducting (that's if the ducting is still connected/intact)!
