Hi all I'm looking to replace my carpets and the complete roof well material and rear window anyway.
Does anyone know of a good company to contact for either of these items.

Cheers Tony

Swap it for a proper folding roof. Mk1 mx-5 frame is required. Still need retrimming though biggrin

I think I may have mentioned this previouslylaugh

Try Wollies. Or is you want someone to do the job for you, I can recommend a trimmer in the HP post code area.

I bought the hood and material for the external targa's from Lakewell and renewed the vinyl on the internal of the targa's bought on Ebay I think.

What Lakewell give you is not bad and good quality but it requires some work. Removing the hood section and re-fitting is not too bad but the stretch to the top hoop and cutting in the seams to fold over are very tricky..at least I found it difficult...honestly I think I'd get it professionally trimmed in future but it looked pretty good when I finished it. Re-trimming the outside of the targa's was quite straightforward but the inside was a pig.

I restored my interior last winter including a set of lakewell carpets. It's a bit of work, but very satisfying and I was pleased with the quality of the pieces.

The only thing I will say is that being based in Belgium can be an issue. I had one piece of carpet missing from the set when it first arrived (happily nothing that held me up) and while they sent it out eventually it took quite a while as everything had to be done via email.

That said, I'd definitely use them again.

Hi guys I have looked at lakewell and they do seem fair in price and quality. I did worry alittle about them being in belgium as you say if something is wrong you cant just jump on the phone,

Im in no rush lots to do but I will drop these people suggested on here a ring etc to se what they say. My rear part of the roof is in great nick but the rear window has gone and I have a small rip in one of the removable panels, Shame to replace just for a window

Cheers

I do believe that with the wonders of modern technology it is possible to converse with foreign lands these days?

I found the only way to get an answer was email. As I say, we got there eventually so I have no real gripe but it did take quite a while to be resolved.

Trust me when I say I learnt on the job with this, just align, re-align, check and re-check everything as you go and you will be fine mate.

Also buy the adhesive while you're at it if you do go their route...only faff I remember was payment I think.
