My back plate is becoming a bit grubby and water damaged so I thought I would replace it.Simple enough...No?
Tried to find 'fancyplates' as posted before...could not.Tried the last plate and other website plate makers and they said no can do your size!
Went to dvla sight, long list of suppliers local to me,started ringing them and got the same result."Sorry Sir,Law changed two years ago and we can only make the standard plate size, not your 10mm shorter one"
That plate would be illegal and we are not able to make them...you could use a hacksaw!

Eventually ordered one from the Republic of Ireland mailorder...they are also in Europe but they don't have a problem making a slightly smaller plate!
"What else do you want on it Sir" was his question...nothing thanks,I am the one who will get pulled up

'Clever' legislation to comply with Europe or have I just gone the wrong route?

www.fancyplates.com/

Will make to the size you order and next day delivery. got a set on the TVR.

However, I forgot to order standard font so it reads fine but is a bit small but it passed the MOT anyway, so that's fine by me!

Hi, I got one from local motorist centre, need birth certificate, electricity bill, passport and stool sample, but finally got one. Then shorten 10mm with hacksaw, tidy up with a file and add a radius on each corner. No problem.

I ordered a set of plates from Fancey plates a few weeks ago. I had them make the rear 10mm shorter.

It fitted perfectly.

I was happy with the results.
