Just a long shot, but I wondered if anybody knows the whereabouts of an S4 bonnet? My S3 one is I a h@@l of a state and I have the choice of loads of work or replacing, and the S4 could be an option for me.

TET supply S3 and S3C bonnets which are nicer and more sturdy than the S4 bonnet! Sorry but I am biased.... They cost £1000. J- LLO, my car has one.

TET mouldings were selling all their moulds, not sure if they are closing or concentrating on other work. Hope these moulds dont disappear.

Yes. I agree about the bonnet shape. I was rather hoping there may be an old or damaged one around somewhere which could be used as a blank canvas to put my own cowl/bulge/air intake on - to clear the cossie engine. I can probably make a fair job of doing the same thing with my poor S3 bonnet, but with loads of other work as well !

Love that! It is possible that a V8s bonnet could clear the engine, though I like the look of the S3 bulge. I've resigned myself to becoming a fiberglass expert

Are you running ITBs, I only mention as when I researched there were plenty of Cosworth conversions done without any bonnet mods. So not sure it's required.? But could be wrong. The duratec manifold I have is huge and that fits (just)

I thought that I was going to get away with it too, then put nice new engine mounts on and the plenham just touches the bonnet on the driver's side! I have about 15mm in other places, including the coil pack, so could be worse. I reckon if I widen the existing bulge so it becomes symmetrical, that will sort it. I saw Mike Milane's bonnet at Burghley so have an idea what I'm aiming for. Lots of other work to do as well, so I'll post some pics when I get around to doing the job in a week or two.

Is it close enough to consider lifting the bonnet as a whole slightly? I reckon you could get away with 5-10mm without it being obvious - the shut lines on these bonnets are all over the place anyway.

Not a bad notion that - certainly worth a try There is nothing fitted to the body at the moment, so I could even pack that a little higher as well, though we may see too much of the outrigger rails if I do that. Further experimentation this weekend I think!
