Hi All,

Does anyone happen to know what size o ring seals to use on the fuel injectors of the 2.9? I got some from a chap on eBay called mr injector who seems to know his stuff. He reckons they should be 14.5mm but they don't seem to fit as tight as the originals. I'm wondering if they are actually 15mm.

Thanks..Ralph

The originals will have compressed and spread, and subsequently hardened to a degree, so could well be tighter. I remember mine were a bugger to get out but the restored injectors were much easier to get in. I could probably dig out a Bosch part number if you need it.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll just get a set of 15mm and try them. I think they are too loose given the pressure they will be under from the fuel rail

I've dealt with mr injector in the past and found him very helpful and knowledgeable. If you're not sure the parts are right I suggest you contact him with your concerns.

O rings, in my experience, are measured by their inner diameter and cross sectional diameter

My spare new injector seals, and some used ones, are measuring up at 7.5mm ID and 3.5mm cross section near as damn it = 14.5mm OD.

Thanks lads.

Based on a bit of google research it looks like 14.5mm is supposedly the right seal. However, they are so loose I'm not yet convinced. I spoke to Mr. Injector and he has very kindly agreed to ship some 15mm seals for me to try. Same ID and cross section as philpot. I'll let you know the results for future reference. I know Ford did a couple of options but I have the fuel rail which is sandwiched between the inlet manifold and the plenum.

Quick update. I ended up using 15mm seals into the fuel rail and 14.5mm seals into the inlet manifold. Odd I know, but 14.5mm was far too loose in the fuel rail and I couldn't get 15mm into the inlet. I have the fuel rail that is sandwiched between the inlet and plenum not the one that threads itself around the plenum. All supplied by Mr.Injector on ebay who was very helpful.
