I know to some of the purists amongst us this will sound extremely ignorant.

However, I noticed that on eBay this week that there is a TVR Griffith/Chimaera oil pressure gauge for sale - It looks nice

Is it possible to fit this gauge into an S3? Naturally, by fitting I mean, one would want to replace all gauges so that they looked as though they were of the same type (same family) etc. Are there calibration issues and are the gauges the same physical size?

Given that the sensors on the RV8 are totally different to the Ford V6 I'd say thats a big

Probably nothing that some investigative DIY couldnt solve though.

There are calibration issues, but not insurmountable. The oil pressure guage requires a different sender but as the ones fitted to the S are now very rare and the ones on the Griff/Chim are common that's no problem. The speedo sensors are taken from different places (diff on the Chim and gearbox on the S IIRC). Water temp/fuel tank guages may require no mod at all and the battery guage (Griff only) is obviously correct. Don't forget the speedo and Tacho are substantially bigger in the late Chim/Griffs (the ones you are looking at!) and will be a tight fit.

Let me know how you get on.....as you've probably guessed I,ve been thinking about this for a while now.

Cheers

Thanks for the foregoing. As usual I am doing things the wrong way round. I haven't bought the car yet But I am very close. I will let you know how I get on. It will take awhile to collect the bits though!

Cheers

Hi Steve,

Getting there! It's been back on the road for a while but still needs some refinements to the engine management system. Frankly with the house move I haven't had much time (or money!!!) to progress the project much further.

Hope to see you at the next S bash.
