On both of my S's Ive notice that i have less clearance at the rear of the nearside rear wheel than the offside rear wheel

do we all have this uniqueness?

There were several molds and none of them seem to be symmetrical from side to side.

Mine is very close on both sides rear but too close for my liking on the near side so sounds a common issue.

Allan Rollo (JustAl on here) thinks the trailing arms can be shimmed to plush it forward - I might explore at some stage

Yep, definitely a tad tighter on the nearside

But as its been like that 25 years I think I'll not worry too much about it.

Wouldn't shimming it plush (or even push) it further back scratchchin

Max, you may have your body on backwards?

As you will know, I have no idea hence my exploration with Tony leading the way

I wouldn't recommend trying to straighten things up by adjusting the suspension. The chassis and suspension is almost certainly straight and symmetrical - it is the fiberglass bodywork which is out, and if you try to adjust the suspension to fit the wheel to the bodywork this will mess up the geometry.

good job you can't see both sides at the same time (that is the TVR bible)

mine is reasonably close - only 5mm difference laughlaugh

I don't think any of us would be daft enough to shim the suspension without thought for its effect on alignment.

Meanwhile
the chassis may not be straight
The body may not be symmetrical
And the alignment of body on chassis may be out

All good fun and more likely where cars have had body lifts, offs and chassis work.

You could remove some shims to increase clearance Max but it would mess up the geometry settings (assuming it is set up correctly at the moment!) but more likely a bodywork issue. Now where is my angle grinder eekeek

Add it to the growing list Tony.

Also have a new recruit for our group - an S1 moved in down the road today
