Oh dear, loud pop out exhaust then rev counter suddenly jumps 1000 revs & car jumps suddenly when in 4th/5th gear then again & eventually cuts out completely.. All whilst I'm on the motorway on my way to treat it to a brake upgrade..

Now I know why I didn't take it to barn farm camping

• update, starts straight back up does same again after few mile, had a look under the bonnet can't see no split air intake hoses or anything

Hopefully, it won't even turn over at all now, RAC guy checked there's a spark etc & there was, said its the injection system.
He couldn't tow me so now waiting for a recovery truck.. Garage shuts at 12:30, what's the bet they don't get me there in time, headache

Finally got recovery truck to garage in time, diagnosis.. No power to fuel pump!

Glad you got to the bottom of the fault. I am no mechanic but have "played" with cars a bit and would be a bit embarrassed if I had not diagnosed loss of fuel supply.

Was the RAC man Welsh maybe he wanted to get home to celebrate down the pub

my first thought was fuel pump but the RAC man said it was OK.. he was scottish so may have been against football all together after not making the euro's
