After searching this to death - what's the general consensus on oil for an S3? I've heard good things about Castrol GTX 15W40...

Will 5 litres be enough?

Thanks,

Alex

I got mine from EuroCar Parts with a 25% discount. It was special order but came really quickly. I now keep getting codes. Latest one was for 30% off.

I had 15-40 GTX in my S1 and quickly swapped it for 20-50 Millers Classic. Car is far happier and quieter. 5 lts will give you about 1/2 lt left to use as top up.

Don't use Shell Helix Ultra 5w-40... I learnt the hard way..laugh I've used Valvoline VR1 20w-50 since replacing the bearings and I've been all over Europe since with no problems...

Oh dear Tel,
That's almost exactly what I've just put into my newly acquired Ford Duratorq 1.8 Tdci. Well, it's Shell 5w-30 low ash, so a bit thinner. Hope it doesn't kill it!

I always use Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 in my Ssssss's, very happy with it!

Thanks guys. Also, what's the consensus on spark plugs? I see there's a debate on what NGK's to use...
