WOOHOO! I finally got there.
Discussion
Well, it took me a while, as this photo shows.

But in a mere 6 years, (it doesn't sound that long if you say it quickly), we have gone from this

to today

MOT'd (no advisories), taxed and insured.
There is another thread Here with more pics of the actual strip and rebuild, for anyone that hasn't seen it (and is interested) but these three are enough here.
I am seriously happy this afternoon, that I finally got there and am fairly sure the only two things I didn't do myself are shotblast the chassis, (I did all the smaller bits) and hydro dip the dash fascia.
The rest is all my own work and it feels good.
Sorry, pointless post but I am just giddy having been out in it this afternoon for the first time in so long.
Sorry again,
Carl.

Thanks Gents.
In all honesty the picture flatters it, the paint has issues with scratches and too many years living outside under a cover, the roof is tired and the carpets are for want of a better term kn4ckered. I will get to these over time (finances permitting) but none of this detracts from the enjoyment of driving it (sometimes like I stole it).
I never set out to build a show car, that just ain't my thing. I wanted to use it again and now everything is right underneath, that's what I am gonna do.

Well done Carl!Your post is far from pointless, it's a great source of encouragement to any one halfway there or contemplating their own chassis resto. I know from experience that it's easy to lose motivation at the halfway stage, but as it all starts to come together, you get a renewed desire to finish it.
Good work, now get out there and enjoy your S

Jaye, you have one year left to get yours back on the road!

Incidentally Carl, how come you've got my personal reg. plate?

ETA:
A word of caution. If your tyres are over 7 years old, I would recommend getting some new ones to be on the safe side. It doesn't matter how much tread depth there is on the old ones, they are not safe, and I know that a sudden delamination or blowout at even 50 mph can be fatal. Your life, your S, and your peace of mind have to be worth a lot more than the cost of a set of Dunlop BluResponces or whatever you prefer.

Well, almost a year on from the beginning of this topic and I am glad to say, another MOT passed with no advisories!
Who woulda thunk it?
Not only can I take em apart, I can put em back together again too.
Happy chap, even if it did rain on the way back (much playing with the waggy rear end in the wet).
Hmmm waggy rear end may not be safe for work browsers but who cares?
Cheers all,
Carl.
