Hi guys, I'm guessing this has happened to many of you too.

My S3 was very snap, crackle and pop on the overrun (that's its charm), until this weekend. I grounded the exhaust on an incline at parking speed, it's now lost ALL its pops, bangs and crackles. At standstill I can smell exhaust fumes and petrol.

I prodded and poked around but can't see any particular damage - any ideas where to look and what to do.

Thanks
Simon.

Hi ChilliS , dont think I have seen you around on PH before? Welcome to a really friendly and helpful bunch of enthusiasts.
Mike is right though, bloody hard to give you any sensible advice without more info, preferably with pictures. Could be so many things, but certainly something that needs sorting!
Can you come back to us with info/pics and I am sure someone will have the experience (yep, we have all grounded the exhaust hard!) and give you the advice you need.

With a bit of luck all that's happened is that you've caught an exhaust clamp and loosened a joint which us now leaking. Get underneath and see what you can find. The more serious it is, the easier it will be to see.

ChilliS = Simon (ex vx wannabe Lotus)

Simon - difficult to know what might be damaged, you could ask Longers to have a gander but he'll probably haves less ideas than you smile
