This question has come up many times before and very often two guys with, what look like very similar circumstances, are paying very different premiums.
Who you with?
Try RH Classic
I could also recommend trying Peter James Insurance (you may have seen adverts in the classic car press with Stirling Moss involved). They seem to understand the classic car scene very well. I have found them particularly sensible when I wanted to add a second driver, and short term insurance cover for my son to use it.
Blimey £80 is not bad!
I went with Footman James with the Chim and it was just over £200 with a load of other probably pointless extras and 5000 miles, I thought it was pretty good though regardless.
I managed to get a CU80 in Nov 11 and I wasn't using the phone just faffing about trying to put it in the holder...still next time I renew its gone. No idea what it adds to the premium though.
