Another one busted in the car park today,Why can't people be more careful!
Fed up with buying these NAF-DAF plastic things!

Anyone know if you can you get white ones then use an orange bulb? if so, where?

Thinking I might even try to find a couple of more substancial spots to sit in the front indicator recesses and re-position some new indicators in one of the bonnet air intakes...
Might look good too?

Hi Tim,

FRONT SIDE LIGHT & INDICATOR
Aprox lens size 170mm by 50mm

At: - www.s-v-c.co.uk

See the "more lights" page.

I have a pair and they do fit, I bought them for a USA to UK light conversion on my Pontiac but never fitted them. The hole centres are the same too.

They're not all white but it is an alternative and they appear to be a more robust type of plastic.

I'm sure there must be an all white unit the same size available from somewhere.

Anyone?

Not too sure there was much call for max power accessories on the leyland Daf vans

I was thinking of making a set of clear lens' up for the front, although now they have been tinted they seem to form part of the black rubber around the front and i quite like them as they are.

They broke mine to (again) last weekend........

When I bought the S, it had front indicators that resemble the ones you mention Kentish. Do they fit exactly (or sort of) or is there much space left? Mine had some space left that was filled with rubber. Didn't look very nice IMO.

check out the pic in my profile.

Cheers

Hi Kevin
Yours been done with the same spray as those on the back I had? You did tell me,but I have forgotten...what was the spray?

They do look much better than the orange in my opinion especially on our blue cars, and they do seem to form part of the black bumper. Hmmm.
Are the indicators bright enough in daylight?

Might be worth a try with my next set if they are,but I think I will keep a lookout for some spots that are the same dinensions.

Hi Tim,

The tint spray is available from most motoring stores for about a fiver IIRC.

Brightness is a little reduced but you don't need to apply much spray to make them look dark.

My lights are cracked so I'll need to replace them too at some point. I bet DAF would raise the price of them if they realised a TVR wears their lamps!

Cheers Kevin

By the way,I got some paint sorted to get the front of my drivers door done...of all places, at Halfrauds!

When I had worked through the monkeys who served me and borrowed their paint charts, I found a perfect match was a Rover colour.(Might not shout about that)
Only got a touch up made to check but its perfect so
Will go back for a spray can now which is a tenner.

Will look for the tint spray at the same time.

Not sure what my paint colour is, my car has been sprayed a totally different colour to original. It used to be a vibrant metallic mid blue colour.

The closest match I could find for the mirrors was Peugeot Midnight Blue but I think it would notice on the body.

Halfwits colour mixing aerosols are very good BTW, you can get a really good finish with them, much better than the old Car Plan paints.

Hmmm Kent convoy, there's a few of us in this corner of the country. Mind you, I've still to be convinced Kentish is anything other than a tool of Ted's making, dreampt up to raise the great swirlpot controversy at in-appropriate times. I've never yet met him, he is always elsewhere whenever these events are on, more passport stamps than Judith Chalmers!

I would have agreed Paul, but I can dispel the rumours that he is actually a troublemaking schoolboy who lives next door to an S owner and gets onto PH when he has finished his homework.
Kevin really does exist,or at least someone who professes to be Kevin
...though his car was not there when I went round..? Hmmmm. conspiracy?

Anyway, whoever he works for evidently gives him six months fully paid holiday entitlement each year!

I wonder if they have vacancies?

I go away on holiday for a week and look what happens

Whilst down south (west) I followed a nice Tuscan along the A303 (I think it was the A303) and passed a Chim and a Tamora. I lost the Tuscan on the straights of course!

The S is sitting in the garage at home now and I'm looking forward to the nice weekends ahead.

If you put some high density foam about 5mm thick behind the light lense edges before screwing them in place you will find that they last a bit better. As I discovered with mine, the plastic edge of the lense mates directly against the fiberglass edge of the bumper, accordingly on tightening up the screws you put the plastic lense edge under quite a bit of tension. All you then need is a gentle tap, and the edges will crack off.

By fitting some strips of foam around the edge to provide a "cushion" to tighten the lense against, you spread the tension load, and also add a minimal level of shock absorbtion (2-3mm compression) to the lense.

Cheers,
Matt.
