Hi

my car electrics are in bits at the mo - so need a question answered which Penelope Stopit asked on a different thread

Does the side light come on if the indicator stalk is in the LH or RH turn position on the S1 in particular (or any S)

Centre switch is to dim instrument lights and one on the right is rear fog and front front driving lamps (if you have them)

Sidelights are switched on by headlights column stalk RH side of column. Move stalk up one click from off = sidelights. The second click upwards switches the headlights on. There is no parking sidelight option.

That applies on both my S1 and S3c.

Parking lights are fitted on some of these funny foreign vehicles. I would not expect to see it on a TVR.

Technically I think you could have parking lights, by lifting the stalk up one click and the next pressing the other TVR-instument-lights-off button. Should leave just side lights on, but nothing inside the car?

I think previous posts are referring to a design where leaving the indicator on with the ignition off puts just the side lights on that side on?

Does anyone leave parking lights on these days?

I carry one of these in case I ever need to wink ....

That is the origin of 'side light' they were for highlighting your PARKED car. Only dips and main for moving cars - as it should be now.

IIRC original stalks are Mark two Fiesta So I don't think they would have parking facility as it was the entry level Ford at the time.

I thought it was generally accepted that column and switches are Sierra, but could be common to other Fords?
