Hi All.
Has any of you got a seat belt warning relay and chime, I ask as I have 6 point harness so I don't use the normal seatbelts, I have a dash light that I want to use like as the ignition is turned on the light comes on with a warning light and a nice chime for a set time or a time I can set.

1. really don't see the need, do you often "forget" to put your seatbelt on?

2. how are you going to tell the thing you have done your harness up?

3. have you got plenty of relays and crimp connectors, sure your old friend Penny will come up with a simple solution wink

Something like this will do the job, you would need to find out what the default time settings are, if you needed a time outside the default settings a PCB resistor resistance value could be changed to suit. This would work by applying a 12 Volt ignition feed to it
Any other 12 Volt timer will do as long as it's adjustable for the OFF Switching
Are you able to fit a micro switch in the seat belt anchor?

I don't understand why you would want something to nag you about the seatbelt regardless of whether you've forgotten it, but given that you do ...

It would be easy and cheap to attach a buzzer to a time delay relay. Both are available off the shelf for a few quid.

If you want it to sound a conventional seatbelt warning chime rather than an unpleasant flat buzz you need something a bit more sophisticated. I don't know how feasible it would be to reuse an OEM unit - I've never noticed these as standalone units but perhaps they exist. It would be a relatively simple electronic project to build one from scratch using an Arduino or similar hobby grade microcontroller - you may even find a suitable project at Maplins or somewhere like that. It might need you to provide a sample of the specific sound you want it to play, but that doesn't seem like an insurmountable problem.

will you be having some kind of pressure switch under the passenger seat so the alarm knows if you have a passenger and they haven't fastened their seat belt?

In light of a recent video clip on FB I think I could do with a "door still open" buzzer wink

I have a light that tells me the door is open, don't need a buzzer for it as there is nothing wrong with my eye sight

I could have done with that on my first S Club Tour laugh
