That'll be my new purchase - a 1991 V8S in white. This car is in great condition and is very loud!

Welcome to the club.

It looks very nice. You even managed to find some weather suitable for roof of driving (or was it just a case of having to get it off!!)

You have now got several months to do any small jobs ready for S Club Heaven 3. OH!! and to put some miles on the clock.

You will find the S forum very friendly and helpful. A mixed bunch all willing to offer advice.

Looks FAB ... if thats the one from the channel islands bargain....... be interested in how importing was... ie costs and paper work involved...

If it is, i'ts had a fair bit of work done quickly because for a start it was pearlescent white and the interior was untidy I believe. The mileage is close though, I thought the CI one was 31k

No, this is not the Channel Island car. This one was a private purchase from a TVR Car Club member.

I did enquire about the Channel Island car but having seen photographs I decided that it required more work than I was prepared to do, not that I won't have work to do on the one I have bought....

The costs to import the Channel Island car were quoted to me as follows:
  • DVLA charge £38 to register (formV55/5 + MOT + owner id + Import duty paid certificate).

  • Customs import duty 17.5% of current valuation of vehicle as shown in car buyer guide (this dependant on overall condition). e.g. if it is valued by a garage at £6500 Customs would want about £1300!

  • One way on ferry for car+driver circa £162

So, by the time you get a £6500 Channel Island car to this side of the channel it will have cost about £8000, plus the cost of you getting to the Channel Islands from your home.

I don't know whether that car ever sold.
