I just wanted to thank all of you for your help and patience while answering all my stupid winter questions about Air Filters. I took all of your suggestion, ideas, and experiences and came up with a great installation of a K&N filter to replace the Pipercross foam that was disintegrating and screwing up everything. I’m not a foam guy what can I say. The K&N looks like it should have been factory original. I would add a picture if I knew how.

Again thanks for your help.

Nice one.... did you buy the twin filter kit as advertised for Ford Sierra? I've pondered on the idea and I work next to Demon Tweeks so if that's the one and it fits OK I might just treat the motor.

I used a K&N 59-5012 Tapered Oval. Prefect size. I used the original mounting plated welded a flange on it and the K&N clamps to the flange. The filter is for Off-Road and Marine use so don’t look for it in the performance section of your local speed shop. The Filter was $97.00 Can$ (43.50 pounds). The set up is more like the original because it is drawing from a single filter not a double. I have pictures if you want to email me or tell me how to post them on pistonheads.

Cheers
Dave
