Hello All

Does anyone know where I can get the swirl pot to water pump hose on my s2 2.9? Its the hose that runs past the fan belt and gets eaten by it if you're not careful!! - be warned cable tie it out of the way!!

I have phoned round a few dealers and have been told its no longer available. (TVR Part No. 025P 021A) The most helpful was TVRparts.com. Apparently the part is (unsurprisingly) a Ford item, which is also unavailable. - Don't know what model its off however.

I've looked on the alternative parts list and no luck either.

Short of using a length of hydraulic hose or similar does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Tom

hi Tom,

i had one split on me 3 months ago, had same trouble but managed to get one from david gerald tvr, who at the time had another one left on the parts shelf, about £20 & its not a ford part, they were a tvr moulded pipe according to other sources.

good luck,

Richard.

I got mine in silicon form ACT as well - wouldn't bother with their clips though - stronger ones available elsewhere (broke a couple when fitting, the screw cage lifts away from the metal strap).
Other option is to buy some generic hose of the correct diameter and use a metal pipe insert where the alternator belt rubs it. Most good motorsport shops stock hoses in a variety of bends and sizes.

Thanks for the advice guys,

Managed to fix it with a hose coupler from halfwits and some jubilee clips, total cost of less than £4.

When taking the hose off I had a good look at it and can advise its one of Uncle Henry's. Its got Ford stamped all over it. If anyone is interested the serial number / part numbers on it are:

72EG18686AA G68580 1167 (on one side)
H809 (on other side)

Again, I'm not sure what Ford its off, and I was told it is now unobtainable. - Not much use really!
