Insurance & track days

I'm just renewing my insurance (with FJ), and with the car now mechanically sound, I'm interested in finding out the limitations of the car in a safe environment.

So, as a complete newbie, am I looking for a track day? should I add this to the insurance renewal?

I'm definitely not looking at racing as I've neither the skills or the wallet - just to understand what happens on the limit.

Also - what else would I need?

"Car limits" based in Essex I think do an airfield day with loads of run offs aka nothing to hit.
