Mine suddenly hicupping .... bit like fuel starvation.

Load of electrical cables in platic conduit, some to the dreaded TP, gave all these wiggle and sorted out the problem.... only for it to return about hrs latter.

No good with elecs.... what should I be looking for ??????

i would say the main connector to check is the one next to the fuel pump these get all sorts of muck thrown on them and corrode as well.

Mine had a hiccuppy fit on Saturday too - took off all the ignition leads, found a wee carbon track inside the distributor cap, so cleaned the cap and leads, rotor arm etc, and it's fine now.

Reminds me - I meant to go to the ford dealer for new ones before it closes... hmmm....

Steve,

The wiring loom to and around the TP appear to suffer a bit due to the excessive heat from the heads which they rest against on most cars. It's a good idea to sheath and strap all this up away from the engine.

The wiring loom to the TP in particular appears to be a common culprit, you can buy a new section of loom to replace this from the Ford dealer for about £8 IIRC, I did mine last year and it's been fine ever since.

Just got in from playing under the bonnet....

Disconnected all the cables.... checked all the cables secure into the blocks.... cleaned what I could.... put all back together

Running smooth........

Lets hope it stays that way....
