On the front bulkhead inside the engine bay, there are two plastic strips, which look like cable ties.

Does anyone know what these are for ?

The do look like cable ties, so presumably they're securing something on the inside. Might even be cables. silly

Not standard and doesn't seem like a very elegant solution, but presumably it did the job.

I suppose everyone will be wanting to do that mod now! rolleyes

Tim, just see what's on the inside and report back to us.
My drill is on standby!

Looks like it needs a bit of sealing mastic there, and that bulkhead grommet doesn't look too waterproof either.

Of course, it's all hypothetical, 'coz it never ever rains in Hungary, does it?

idea Cut them and see what falls down inside?

Getting grommets to fit thick fibreglass panels isn't so easy (as you may have already found out), vast majority of readily available stuff is made for metal or plastic panels (i-2mm max)

I like to use cable grip glands where possible, obviously this doesn't work if you have any kind of big multi-plug on the end of the wires irked

Oh, and get some proper black loom tape biggrin

Thanks for all the replies.

I'm surprised to hear that these are not standard and I wonder why someone added them ??
The body of the car is presently hanging from the roof of the garage, so if I do cut them, I'll not be able to see what falls down behind the dashboard. frown

I'm working on some new BLUE polyurethane grommets for the 2 places where the cables enter the engine bay. I just spent a weekend cleaning up the cables and putting on some nice new BLUE loom tape, to match the new chassis cool

Those are the TVR patented chassis stiffeners.

Mine has them, but that doesn't mean they're TVR standard. On the nearside, a cable tie was looped through the one that goes through the body, and loosely restrains the fuel flow/return and EVP pipes.
