Boot release switch

I've been asked if I know where the little square button switch set in the steering column shroud can be sourced from?



possibly there are other sources (Maplin?) but got mine from RS online, part No. 724 3324

Yes Tim.

The S1/S2 are manual pull cable operated release .

My S2 (May 1990) has electric release button. Maplins do near identical replacements.

It is easy to fit electric boot release to an S1. Keep the manual one for emergencies

I should have qualified my earlier statement by saying that this is TVR: Anything is possible!

Hi,
The little black switch is an RS Components part there as cheap as chips. I'll get the part number for you tomorrow as replaced mine recently (snapped terminal) and kept a spare in my parts bin. You can just order online direst from RS. There are similar looking switches available but they are low current so best to stick with the RS ones.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay, crazy day yesterday.
The RS part number on the switch is 336-602. However, RS say the original switch has been discontinued by the manufacturer and replaced by another with the same specs (looks like manufacturer has just changed their part number).

Do you have a part number for the square one?


I think this could be the round one fitted to later cars but don't quote me on it? ............. 125-1718
