Rolling road results

Hey, just had my S2 put on a rolling road tune-up. Got 171.4 bhp @5744 rpm and 184 lb ft @3246 rpm. Does that sound about right for an aged 2.9 with 88,000 miles. Got it sorted at Mikeanics, Congleton, Cheshire, they replaced fuel pump with a beefier one, Cosworth spec!, and replaced fuel regulator valve, which was sucking air in, for a power boost valve (demon tweeks). Any one else got any dyno results?

Good results for not a load of work, I'd be lucky to get 150 on the dyno I reckon.

I think those numbers pretty much mirror Podies initial results with the remap.

My car is totally standard and is putting out about 160 bhp according to Austec....
The large long haired chap (paul????) said it was good for a car that age that was unmodified.... also said a lot of S2s that came were complete rubbish... ie tierd and knackered

Thats sounds very good, I doubt mine would make that, It does prove that mileage and regular use don`t hurt the car, as often comented on here.

Sounds good..... How much did it cost? and what results have you noticed? May find myself going to congleton for a day out.

Cost just short of £300. Have noticed its more responsive and feels gutsier/stronger. Would recommend to anyone the use of a rolling road, I know its a a lot of money, but after two years of ownership and constant tuning costs, nobody has come near of achieving this performance before. Am well happy.

Definitely sounds a good figure. It's over the quoted figure straight from new.

I know about the DT pressure valve but wonder if you have details on the pump

Hi Folks

I have the Austec Unichip fitted and can advise my figures were 171 Hp but with a huge increase in torque to 224 lb/ft.

I have 130K on the clock & was concerned she'd blow up.... the sound of her doing 100 mph+ on the rollers was frightening. However Paul reassured me that as long as the engines in sound condition (not smokey, drinking oil & has good pressure) then there bullet proof units.

I am really pleased with the mid range drivability of her, can sit in gear from 1500 to 6000 revs with almost a flat torque curve.

Any one else got any results ?

I like those torque figures and that reminds me that Podie's torque was also increased big time.

I wonder if the power boost valve and Unichip would together increase the figures.

BTW I have nociced a big difference between my last car and the new one , the only difference being that the old one had a fast road cam fitted, not a lot of money, I wonder what would happen if you combined the lot.

all i know about the pump,is it was £122 + vat and it was a Cosworth one. The other one wer'nt powerfull enough. He's got them in stock because its a common fault.
