About six years ago I replaced the flexi hoses, took this off and forgot to put it back on. This weekend I have fitted new calipers but can't remember where it goes...... does anyone have a pic' or can tell me where on the felxi it fits?

Many thanks,

Steve

Can't remember seeing one of those on my car. Have you still got standard brakes ?

As far as I know they're standard.

I seem to remember it looked like a form of tensioner that was compressed when the pipe is in situ.

My theory is that it goes on the end of the flexi furthest away from the caliper and sits above the chassis bracket. The threaded portion of the flexi goes through the clip, through the chassis bracket then the retaining nut is tightened, followed by the copper brake pipe nut.... or not?

But I've sprayed it and it looks so pretty

One for the garage wall of fame I have that covered with old reg' plates and other redundant relics.

Cheers.

I've only seen them fitted to the bleed nipple. Have no idea what function they perform.

If it's the bleed nipple it would act like a spring washer to maintain outward pressure on the bleed screw and/or prevent overtightening?

It goes under the bleed nipple - on the Sierra, it held the rubber brake hose just to stop it flapping about. Nothing to do with spring washer or anything else. Bin it.

On the Sierra it retained the pad low-level warning wires. Not needed.

You're right - As I wrote that, I couldn't see why you needed it for a brake hose, my memory of Sierra / Granada brakes didn't include the pad wear connector!
