Having dropped and snapped off the casing around the +ve terminal on the coil I have found this on Burton Power's website. I could try to repair it but as I've just spent a small fortune over the last year, another few pounds doesn't seem to matter too much.

It looks identical to the one I have and is also available for less on Ebay.

Is this one that can be added to the new parts list?

It's listed as fitttng Ford Escort Cosworth, Ford Escort Mk3/Mk4 (All), Ford Fiesta Mk1 (All), Ford Fiesta Mk2 (All), Ford Sierra (All)

Hi Steve

Here's a link to the thread I started a couple of years ago, but gives the detail of the alternative coil that I fitted.

It looks a bit odd (not the conventional coil shape) but it does the job really well.

I'm no expert on coils, but I was told that this is a 'dry' coil which prevents the breakdown usually suffered by the usual wet coil from it being located above the exhausts.

Hope this is helpful, anyway.

Andy

Original oil filled coils work fine ( you may prefer the look) but I've no doubt modern dry coils are cheaper to produce. Which ever you go for moving it from the top of the engine onto to the bulkhead is a good idea........ imho
