Has anyone got S1 suspension photos
Discussion
It would be a very long winded story but I am wanting to see a close up photo of the rear suspension as I might have to try and use s1 springs in my v8s. I was sent the springs by mistake and they are 45mm shorter than the v8s (at the minute can't get the orig springs). I will have to shorten the avo adz but I need to see the difference in the setup as I believe the rear trailing arms were different(thinking of angles and spring compression). At the minute it would be plan "f" but it will give me a head start. When I tried them with the car jacked up the springs were loose in the shocks.
I haven't measured them exactly, but I've sat my V8S next to an S2 and compared the rear suspension and I couldn't see any significant difference in the trailing arm or damper position. However, I wouldn't advise you to mix and match spring rates.
Edited to add: you mentioned this in another thread and from what I can remember the damper lengths you quoted were OK. So you just need to work out the spring lengths, which is easy enough to do if you know the damper dimensions and spring rate.

Hi Gv8S. Yep I know that the s2 and v8s are the same (had s2 before the v8) but the s1 has a different suspension setup at the rear( i think) so I need to see the photo's to see were the shock is joined onto the trailing arm as if I have to use the s1 springs i need to know is the shock connected to the same area as the s2/v8s on the trailing arm as this would effect the spring compression eg if it was not in the same place that would count for the s1 spring being shorter. (I am hoping it is in the same place on the trailing arm and different onto the chassis) or else I could not use the s1 springs and plan "f" won't work.
On another matter (I know you can help on this one to) are the front springs on the s2 and the v8s the same as it seems to be sitting high on the front (put s2 springs into it). I am just hoping that it is because they are new and will take a wile to "bed in"
