Nice one. 
All, and SOTON S2,
Had my screen done in January by National Windscreens in the industrial estate by Dock Gate 2 in So'ton.
RAC were b****y useless - gave them the part number from the S series parts list often mentioned here, as well.
They said a batch was being made by a Finnish company, but no firm delivery date. RAC windscreens are part of Autoglass or vice versa.
National were a bit hard to persuade as they were not 'tied' to my insurers, but after a few 'phone calls, they did the job. Yes, it took them an afternoon to do it. They reckoned that with labour it was a £450 job. Nick

An update:
I've now had the new windscreen fitted by RAC Windscreens in Stockly Park (near Heathrow).
The good points:
* Wanted the car at the depot and overnight to do a proper job.
* seems to be a well fitted good quality screen
* screen has the green tint at the top (the old one didn't). Not sure if I like this or not though.
* friendly staff who took time to explain what they had done and what tools they had used.
* all my stickers (speed matters etc) transferred to the new screen neatly.
The bad:
- Small tear of the vinyl half way down the pillar on the passenger side. They pointed out this wasn't by them but was already present from the last screen - which they explained had been badly fitted. The slightly different screen makes it easier to see. Not sure if it was there before or not - never noticed it but inclined to believe them - see below.
- car came back fairly dirty covered with dust etc. Ok, it didn't go in exactly clean because I've just returned from 2000 miles round Spain.
They explained that the last screen had been a very bad job. They showed where the removal tool had cut the pillar in the past (not the vinyl but the actual fibreglass!. I knew about this mark and wondered what it was) and also explained the screen wasn't mounted properly especially at the top of the drivers side - this makes sense as it used to leak from exactly that spot in heavy rain.
I've now given the car a full wash + scratchX + polish + wax and it does look a lot better

Nick, was £450 the total bill ? I have a £500 ceiling on my insurance policy for a windscreen.
Also - did they treat the car well, fit the screen well ? get the size right etc ?
Have heard so many nightmare stories about S windscreens, mine is currently a good fit and I am very wary of getting it changed, despite the crack getting further across the screen ... eeeek.
good to know there are screens becoming available for the S now.
Hi Claire, I think the current MOT testing rules may mean you have to get the windscreen replaced 
Having seen the damage, I'd be VERY surprised if it passed.
If the windscreen does leak / doesn't fit / whatever after fitting, just take it back and get them to do the job properly. Your insurance company should back you up on this. A mate of mine has just had a new screen fitted in his Scorpio by a 'National' company
, they fitted it too tight (how ??) and it cracked within a couple of days. The 'screen company agreed straightaway to replace it - not cheap since it was a heated one.

Windscren is XXX clear supplied by Ricky Evans Motorsport. They didn't have one in stock but got me one within a week, informed me of the minor price increase........well happy

Driving home the other night and the roads had been patched up by partial resurfacing but no speed reduction was in place and no signs had been put out to say that the road surface had loose chippings all over it.
Consequently a maxxed up saxo blasted past me at 80 odd and bust my front screen (top to bottom).
Luckily I was driving the BMW, it's all fixed now and I'm £50 worse off but whilst the Autoglass chap was replacing the screen he started to talk about the TVR, he paid mine lots of compliments on overall condition and mentioned that he had replaced numerous screens in S's and many other models too.
The screen on an S is standard Ford Capri and he asked whether I had had problems with it going cloudy around the edge. Luckily mine hasn't delaminated but many do around the edge and this can hold moisture after heavy rain. The Autoglass chap said that they can resolve this by fitting a proper screen rubber and the overall appearance is much tidier than the sikaflex that the S tends to have as the pretty much standard method of fixing the screen in place.
Anyway, it's good to know that screens are easy to get hold of.

Just to clarify - when I mentioned £450, that was the sum the depot manager quoted to me. In fact, I paid just my glass XS of £60.
When you think about it, if the screen is £150'ish add 4 hours labour - say £200 (with overheads) plus a few materials you can't be far off the 450 quid mark.
National did require authorisation from my insurance head office - apparently a lot of insurers only allow the replacement company about £150 for windscreens.
I took the car in at about 10 am and they 'phoned me around 3 in the afternoon to say it was ready. I also got the tinted band at the top. No cuts to trim or damage to paint - pretty good job!

Apparently, all screens they replace have a graduated edge now.
The old screen in the BMW didn't have much of a graduated mask but the replacement does and a tinted top band too. Looks much nicer than the old one.
