Sell to regtransfers then
Nah, they don't buy stock, only sell on commision and at that price it would sit around a while.
Hence, I thought I'd ask here in case anyone was looking for one but at a fraction of the cost!
Some of them do/did buy for stock Kevin I would phone around. Last time I sold a plate the company gave me two prices, what they would give me, and the price I could expect to get if I just got them to advertise it for me?

Thanks Mike, do you have a name or number for who you dealt with.
Regtransfers just e-mailed to let me know they would let me have £300 from the sale and that they pocket £1521 since they are already advertising my number for £1821.
Robbing sods!
I had my plate (P55 COT/ P5 SCOT) up with newreg - they valued it at 2100 with a return to me of 1600. Regtransfer valued it at 1500 with a return to me of 600 - guess who got the listing!
In the end I sold it on E-bay for £1300, in the 2 months its been with the reg companies I've not had one expression of interest. If your going to sell it via them then be prepared for a very long wait.
Yes that sounds very low Kevin, when I sold the value was £750 and the return to me was £300-400 IIRC Dont remember who it was but one of the main ones, could have been New Reg? or Elite registrations but cant remember?
I sold a reg on Ebay recently didnt even go with a reg company as they have proved a waste of time for anything other than VERY popular registrations. If you want to seel quickly stick a reserve on and try your luck on Ebay, I would try PH adverts too, there are a few on there and likely to be many Tiv owners looking??

I was almost thinking about starting a sweepstake on what Regtransfers would offer you for the plate. My opening guess was going to be 425.00 but I didn't want to lower your expectations
Dick Turpin is alive and well then....

Just a thought but why post Gx99 TVR when your profile gives the game away ?
nice one...
Yes, sherlock but it doesn't give the full reg in the one location
If anyone was "that" interested they could check the profile and get the entire number but without me openly giving the whole reg within a thread.
Also, not much point in me saying I'm selling but then not actually saying what the number is.
But of course now I've explained all that it's rather less cryptic
Nevermind

I'm in the process of trying to sell a plate with RegTransfers
Never again!!! It was advertised for £999 & they informed me they would return me £300. Rip off - yes - but I figured the extra money would come in handy for the 'S' - quick sale & all that. 5 months later I'm still waiting for the money
The chap buying the plate paid them in November...every time I call them there's another excuse. I've probably spoken to every member of their sales team including the manager...very unhelpful and still no cash
So, I have no plate, the buyer has no plate & RegTransfers have all the money!
IMHO E-bay or even an advert in Sprint or better still, Pistonheads.
Good Luck

Hi flygirl, sorry to hear your troubles with them.
I'm very unimpressed with the mark up they have, my cut was approx 14%, just £300 on a number they are already advertising without my consent for £1821
I've now told them to remove it from their website.
Anyway, try this person at Regtransfers. She seems helpful. AS@regtransfers.co.uk
As for my registration number, I'll probably leave it on the car when I sell at no extra cost. It's worth £900, probably more looking at the classifieds on here so somebody will be getting even more of a bargain TVR.

I was thinking of selling my plates TVR**X, anybody have an idea what sort of price i could be looking at?
Also, as i have never done this before, do you get the original 'G'plate transferred back onto the car when you sell the private plate?...or do you have to apply to DVLA and pay them for a new number assigned to the S ?

I entered the most recent DVLA auction in an attempt to purchase a TVR Reg. I was hoping to get a bit of a bargin and registered an interest in TVR 5E and TVR 300T. They went for 1,600 and £1,000 respectivley. On top of this you have to add the assignment fee, VAT and some other gubbins. I didn't win
Hope that give some idea of values. alternativley if you log on to the DVLA website it lets you know what all the TVR plates have gone for at auction.
