Exhaust Resonating!!!!

Reading about exhaust noises and resonating, thought I would post my fix it. I thought it was hitting the chassis rails, so new mountin rubbers and reposition. No difference. Must be inside the silencer box, so cut the top off to find no problems. Still full of packing and pipes not loose. It turned out to be the underside of the silencer box. The pipes pass through only 15mm above the steel. This was causing the steel to vibrate at loud decibels like a biscuit tin lid. Sometimes twice as loud as normal. My solution was to cut the bottom off the silencer box and weld on thicker stainless. What a difference, a pleasure to drive again

Yes, think I had this problem with my previous stainless steel exhaust. It only happened though over about 4000rpm. Glad you sorted it.
