Does anybody have a part number/make for the slave cylinder on my S3?
Also I want to change the gearbox and diff oil while it's up on the ramp.Which oils are recommended?
Any advise on changing the cylinder would be usefull.

see my previous post last week - slave cylinder is awkward to get at - but the one I'm using is off a Rover SD1 and is identical to the item removed

Did it fit?

yes it did fit. It needed a little filing off the flange that is close to the gearbox but the old one I took off was filed in the same place. Several others have had the same issue.
Measured the internal bore and they are identical so fingers crossed. Cannot give a definitive answer as the body is off the chassis and no way of operating the clutch but I reckon its sorted.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll take the slave cylinder off to compare it.Knowing the British car industry both part numbers are probably for the same thing!

It's going up on the ramp in the next week or two so I'll let you know. Thing is I've got a nasty feeling the floor mat rolling under the clutch pedal may have been the cause of the problem!!!....................
OK I'll admit it. It was.

hey at least your honest about it - I had an MR2 and before the MOT I tested the screen washers -only to find them not working. So I spent a couple of hours removing wheel arch liners, and crawling about with a multimeter before I realized I was pressing the wrong button to operate them !!!
