Probably a good buy for a DIYer, but its so easy to spend 3/4k on these and then you could be into a reasonable example of the model if you don't watch out.

Probably worth more if it was sold as spare parts. Wheels, chassis & seats would fetch over £1k.

The problem is you can not longer value it as a car, so forget S Series prices. Its now a hobby/project/mecano set, buy it and spend hundreds of man-hours and £3-4k on it fixing it, putting it back together and re-spraying it, then you've got a car at the end.

Personally the S Series isn't interesting enough for me to spend that level of emotion and time on restoring one in this way... if it was a Vixen or a Grantura then I'd be interested, but you can buy a running S Series for 3k these days anyway.

I sincerely hope it sells and someone puts it back on the road, but as to what it is "worth".. not a huge amount like that I would have thought.. say 1k..? I forecast a "taking up space so any offers considered" advert some time in the future.

Cheers,
Matt.
