Novice Track Days

Hello All,
Time to do a track day ! BUT I'm not free for any of the TVRCC ones this year - so it's more of a case of pick a track and pitch up.
I was wondering if what thoughts anyoone had regarding tracks suitable for novices within striking distance of west london. Thruxton in particular looks good, but Castle Combe maybe a bit restrictive decibel wise - any others I should be thinking of ?
