Cough cough splutter -- help

Does anyone have any suggetions on what to do next - previously every time it rained my S3 would just die on me when I tried to put my foot down but it was only when it rained, so I started with the fuel pump and renewed the wiring and sealed the connectors - not solved - so continued on with new HT leads and plugs, new rotor arm, new dizzy cap, new ignition coil, new throttle pot however still not solved and now it is doing it when dry also.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Water runs down screen over bulk head top straight onto the dizzy.... TADTS.

Run the car when its dry, hose down the car to try and replicate the fault.

The fault is sometimes seen when parking the car nose down on a hill... It rains - Same effect.

Had a very similar problem with mine last weekend, It was as though the ignition had been cut. Only did it when warm though. Cleaned all the leads, rotor arm, Dizzy cap etc, checked airflow meter and TP and now runs fine. Although not tried it in the wet! Still a mystery as what was causing it. Would be interested to know what it was if you find out.

Check the wiring loom where it sits on the right hand rocker cover, it feeds the injectors, and also the temperature sensors, throttle pot, iscv valve etc - there's a connector just between no 2 and 3 cylinders which is prone to water ingress.

Could be airflow meter sticking, if its playing up give the top of the unit a tap and see if stops the problem. Mine has been playing up recently it tends to give a fuel starvation type symptom.
