Best and worst things about SCH 3

I think it is fair to look at what was good and bad about this years do and constructive views from all of us should ensure that next years will be even better.

Worst
The weather (not that we can do much about it)
Toilets: it's OK for blokes to go behind bushes but we attracted loads of the fairer sex, we need loos.
Traders: I think its an important part of the day and I thought that more traders would have been nice.
Organisers: I felt that Mike and I were a bit stretched on the day and more help should have been brought in, with set tasks.

All of you were brilliant and made this, probably the best SCH so far and gave willingly to our charity.

I agree with all your points and more certainly could have been done, more traders, more prizes etc.. but spare time for me over the past few months has been zero and I know you have been busy too Derek so yes more volunteers for next years event would be appreciated.

Toilets were a bit too far away but this was a last minute change so wont happen next year....hopefully.

That is actually a good point, to attract more S cars next year we need even more interactive stuff.

With the weather we had yesterday, I was thinking of a 'putting the roof up race', with a Le Mans start from the burger van !

This was my first SCH so I didn't really know what to expect but I have to say that the day was really enjoyable. I won't comment on the weather 'cause that's outside all of our control and is one of the hazards of organising an outdoor event in the english summer. At least it was better than Saturday.

Meeting other S owners
Raising loads of dosh for the kids

Worst

Could do with more trade stands, demos and an idea of the timetable and what was going on when.

And what happened to the kids?

Oi, I earned that roll, first to arrive (and last to leave)
It was rather large though, wasn't it?

Mike and I both realise that we did take on rather a lot and that in hindsight had we delagated some areas, the day could have been better.

We will have a sit down and de-brief on how the day went and whilst we did multi-task reasonably IMHO (the ladies will probably say that men can't multi-task), I'm sure we can do better next year.

To be honest we had one there, as Mycroft had the one from last year, but not everyone signed it. It was difficult enough trying to get everyone to fill in the voting slips. As has been mentioned next year hopefully we will have more people involved.

Hi Pete, Dale had it from last year, by the time he caught up with me to ask if we wanted to use it, the weather was already getting bad so we didnt put it out. With the raffle tickets, voting slips, arranging the hoon, the Db check etc, we had our hands full, next year we will hopefully have more people involved. Last year there were three of us who shared the duties and there was less to do/arrange? Would like to get involved with next years event?

Think you've captured all the main points.

One thought that has just come to me is that David Gerald's premises are pretty big.....and have probably got decent 'facilities' for the ladies. They are also reasonably central.
Another option might be Haynes at Sparkford. I've seen them do one make gatherings before - - but would be quite a trek for the Scots and Lancastrians!

Agree that some of the stuff does need to be farmed out next year. I'd be up for a bit of organising.

Well done for the hard work in putting the day together guys.
More wives/girlfriends next year would be good, my wife felt a bit outnumbered!

More stands is a great idea, ie. parts, tools, cleaning products, anything relevant.

Another thought is maybe all chipping in and hiring a marquee, be very useful especially if we get a repeat of the weather

Maybe a different venue may be an idea?
I will be willing to help next year too

Oh...and lastly how about an ice cream van?!!!

Had it with me but were to put it ?
It would be nice to know who came and its all good info for the car club archives. I asked people to sign it last year but not that many did. It seemed that a similar percentage of the calendar list attended and I spoke to a couple of owners who weren`t on the list so thats a good indicator of numbers for future reference.(75-80% of list +10-15 not registered)I still think the only accurate way to get details is to log in at the gate.
Maybe next year.
