Me again, bit more help please.
Discussion
Hi folks.
Few more snagettes which I need a little advice on.
My fuel gauge doesn't work, nor does the speedo and rev counter.
Re the fuel gauge, we have isolated the dashboard side of things, and the gauge does work when the wires at the tank are twiddled. So.....it must be the sender, does anyone know which type of sender is used, is it an escort. :scratchchin:
If anyone can help re the rev counter and speedo, gratefully received. It seems a bit odd that both have stopped, so I wouldn't have thought that the lead has popped off.
At a bit of a loss here folks, but on a positive side, it passed it's MOT yesterday. :bounce:

Hi, from memory, take a look at the wiring diagram, I remember the supply for the dash instruments comes from a single lead through the ignition switch, and could be interrupted. I spent a week looking at the wiring diagram when I first got the car before I got it all under control.
If you havn't got one, get a copy of the S book, or I can photocopy mine.

P.S. The fuel gauge works...................I put some petrol in the car.
ahem...
Hmm.. Bearing in mind I was 20 miles if that from the start of what was going to be a weekend away and I'd never leave home with nothing in the tank, (especially as I was heading to where I was heading), I'm damm sure there would have been at least half a tank, if not more in her when I last saw her..
That, amongst a couple of other things, is bloody odd to say the least..

Presumably the car spent a fair time in a yard somewhere before it was sold? Maybe just me being too cynical, but I'd be kind of surprised if the petrol (and all other moveable valuables) *weren't* removed ("for safe keeping"
) somewhere along the way.Gassing Station | S Series | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
