Well, today, with a can of WD40, bendy arms, and the car on blocks, I got the left manifold off without leaving any bolts in the head!!!!!
I will now find someone to do some welding for me, and then look forward to re fitting it. I will have to visit a fraud dealer for the gasget. ( I take it is is a standard part??? )

With any luck, I will be back on the road next week.

Nice job mate, getting all the bolts out, recently did mine, I got the bog standard 2.9 ford manifold gaskets from the local car parts shop in Bridgend at a ridiculous price of 99 pence each, yep 99 pence, the exchaust sealing paste was more expensive. Anyway get your manifold back on after the weld and enjoy P.S. the seals I got were singles i.e. one for each exhaust port.

Right. After cleaning and looking, I am going to get it welded. I have a date with David Gerald next Monday. Do you think he is the man to weld it or is there anyone else in the Cotswolds who weld these things.
I will need a bit of pipe for the bottom, as I'm not going to reuse the broken bit.

Cheers
