Sticky Steering Wheel....
Discussion
This is probably me being a bit finnicky but my steering wheel becomes a bit sticky when I've been driving it awhile....this is a serious observation....now what I'm wondering is... the original rubber Momo steering wheel is starting to degrade and perish thus becoming slightly sticky when handled with my warm, sweaty maulers.
Joking aside...I do get a great buzz outa' driving my S but it ain't that good.
Has anyone ever come across this sticky steering wheel problem in the past....

Nailbrush, small amount of soap and water. Give it a good old scrub, rub with damp cloth containing no soap, then let it dry...worked for me. ![]()
I knew someone that used to do that, then put shoe polish on it.
It sounds nuts, but I think shoe polish has similar properties to surf board wax. It actually creates a non-slip and tack less contact with skin when wet (sweaty). With out knowing it she may have come up with a good idea, that also makes your wheel look good as new.
Only trouble is you will look like a coal miner if you don't buff off the excess.

What's shoe polish?
Thank you everyone for your responses...and not pouring the obvious p**take outa' me.
I hadn't cleaned it properly as yet, will do it this weekend and see what it comes up like.
My thoughts of it being a deterioration in the rubber compound, thankfully, hasn't brought any confirmation...new steering wheels being inordinately expensive.
