Hello TVR enthusiasts, I own a 1990 S3C with left-hand drive. I wanted to overhaul the rear drum brakes and, due to my own negligence, damaged the left-hand thread on the left drive shaft. Does anyone know the part number for this shaft or at least which car it comes from? I suspect it is from a Ford Sierra, but which model year and engine type? Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything specific in the alternative parts list. I would be very grateful for your help! Best regards from Tyrol, the heart of the Alps! Martin

Sometimes this part is referred to as a drive shaft but it's more usual to call it a stub axle.

You're right that it is a Sierra part. Your S3 would have had the stub axle which fits the 100mm diameter CV joint, usually referred to as the "Sierra 100mm stub axle". It was probably used on the Sierra 4x4, but some suppliers seem to get confused about which Sierra model used which driveshaft so focus on the "100mm" not the model. As long as you're getting the 100mm part with the correct thread orientation, it'll be what you need.

There is a beefier Sierra 108mm CV joint and stub axle used on some Sierra models which is not compatible with your car.

Consider whether it's worth replacing bearings and CV joints while it's in bits.
