Does anyone know of any 'stuff' that I can seal my leaking petrol tank?

Hi Mike,
Two that I have used in the past are HERMETITE and JB WELD. Both are a two part resin that you mix together JB I think was the better and easier to work with - available at Halfords, only a few pounds. JB can also be used for 'umpteen different repairs.

Actually, no. Chewing gum is completely resistant to petrol, extremely tacky and is very tough once it has set. Using chewing gum to seal a leak is a well known trick, and if done right the repair lasts indefinitely.

i had a seamm leak on my petrol tank and got a product from frosts which sealed and coated the tank, no leak since

I made a petrol tank for my brother in laws landrover and had it professionally coated inside and out. Not cheap but fully guaranteed for something like 10 years. It would work gret on an S tank, in fact my tank has been leaking for all the time I've owned the car, and has been uinprofessionally bodged at some point in the past ownerships .. I'm thinking of getting an alloy one made though.

Joo, do you have a contact that can make the Ally tanks, as I would definitely be interested? Kentish had a contact that would make them relatively cheaply IIRC, will try to dig out the contact details?

POR-15 tank sealer is supposed to be quite good. You have to shake it around inside the tank, so you will have to remove the thing first.

I seem to remember seeing an advert from Steve Reid (Company called Classic TVR or something similar....?) for upgraded / ally petrol tanks. It was from some time ago when I owned my previous S so not sure if still relevant. May be worth checking.....
