My centre console needs recovering in leather. It's one of those jobs that if I don't get on with it it will never get done.

If anyone has a grey interior, could you possibly photograph the centre console so I could send it via email for a quote for retrimming.

I have heard krytch trimmers in Bristol are quite good, but if anyone knows of anyone else I would be grateful for a recommend...........or has anyone done it themselves :smash:I'm always up for a challenge however I think this sort of thing really needs to be done well.

Thanks in advance,
The car is an S3C So would need to be the dash with the horizontal instruments.

:D Mike.

I live near Swindon and use a guy called Mike Jones. He did such a good job with the targa panels that I am now forced to have the back hood done (Hood has slightly shrunk in 15 years) to match!! He too will cover all things in leather, something I too am planning in the future - central console and seats. Strongly recommend him, works from home. Top craftsman. Give him a call on 01793 813333. He operates from Wroughton, just off junction 16 of the M4.
Cheers
Paul

Mike,
If you ring Mike Jones of Swindon for a quote, would you mind letting me know what the cost would be (forgive me - I do hope that's not TOO cheeky to ask!) as I would like to budget for the' re-leathering' of the centre console next year together with the back hood. I think the back hood is going to cost me the best part of £400. As for the seats guess that will be a 2007 project. By then the car should be very much up to A1 standard. - I hope!

It all depens on what the car was specked when new... real leather or Almba ( or what ever it is called)

My old car was specked as full leather in the log book... Now this is lie as only the fronts of the seats were..... so typical TVR

Thanks chaps, Marz, I will let you know how much they quote for a retrim.

With regard to it being leather or ambla hoover, I have had a look in my service book, it doesn't seem to say. Mind you, the dash (apart from the top) looks like leather, around the steering column definately is.....hmm...as do the seats, they look leather like, but a bit shiny....Then again the seats in my old jag xj8 were leather but they must have made a concerted effort to give them a plastic effect

Does it matter whether it is currently leather or Ambla, it's what you want it recovered in that counts and if you want leather - go for it.

Do you still want a photo? Mine is dark grey but I'm in the States at the moment (driving a mushy Yankmobile which does not compare with a TVR). If you like I can send you piccies when I get back but that won't be til next Monday.

Thanks doddze and profstoff.

Doddze, if you could I would be grateful, it's just so I can send them a picture of what they will have to do, a sort of before and after. As long as they can see how complicated it is then they should be able to give me a quote rather than taking my car physically to them.
Mine is bare sprayed fibreglass at the moment, so it would be nice if I could show them mine and yours and ask them how much to 'make it so'

Thanks profstoff, Hope the driving experience isn't too bad.

Mike.

P.S. Doddze, I'll email you my address. I would put it on here, but you never know how many nigerian businessmen would like to offer me untold riches for my centre console

I can assure you it is. The car is actually quite nippy and once you get over the torgue converter sluggishness, pulls away quite smartly but keeping it in a straight line can be a bit wayward with power steering like a blancmonge.

Good luck with the trimming.

Cheers Paul. Just the job those are.
Having it covered will make such a difference. Incidentally is yours leather or ambla? You have exactly the same interior as mine including the seats, I am presuming mine is leather, but it's a bit shiny.

Cheers
