thought you might like to see my photos of my s2 rebuld. the entire chassis including petrol tank, wishbones, rear trailing arms has been shot blasted, powder coated and undersealed with 6 litres of bwm underseal.the only part of the chassis to require work was both front corner outriggers which have been cut out and replaced with new steel.i have also replaced the brakes, pipes, suspension, bearings, bushes, clutch, radiator and all fluids replaced. the engine has had a top end overall with new valve guides, water pump, silicon hoses, all gaskets and a full stainless exhaust including manifolds and down pipes the body has been completly stripped back to fibreglass with all cracks and star repaired, rubber bumpers smoothed out mini cooper s side repeaters moulded into the body, third hi-level brake light fitted, thebody is now painted black and will be fitted back on the chassis this week.the rest of the build will include new roof, carpets, and windscreen. i hope you like the bulid so far.

cheers andy

Andy, it looks superb especially the detailing around the engine. What have you used to make up the intake tubes?

I'd be interested to find out what has been used for the intake tubes as well? Nice touch

That looks fantastic. I thought I was being thorough with my rebuild but that blows mine away.

thanks for the response. the air intake tube is ali tube with blue silicon conectors which we sell in our shop, it comes in straight,45 and 90 deg bends. i have cut carious pieces to suit. yes i have a two post lift, acid bath, paint both with low bake oven and shot blast equipment in a 3 bay workshop that is not used.next to it is clappys old v8s i have just purchased as a cat c write off, this only needs a rear trailing arm, wheel and a small amount of body work to get road worthy, so the s2 will be for sale as soon as its reardy,im fortunate that i only live 2 miles work so i have time to keep it off the road. i sell car audio and we have just purchased an old volvo dealership and workshops with all this on site.

Aup Andy,

Pics of rebuild are great so far, not as good as it looks in the flesh. Pity you'll be selling it when your done, you'll have to give me a shout so I can come and drool over it!! Then, time to do it all over again on your V8. Lucky fella

Paul.

I did mine a couple of years ago, (not the body though) and its a great moment when they go back together and work. I bet you cant wait.

Shameless plug time..... Mine will be the feature car in practicle classics next month. I hope they say nice thing's about it.

Looking good!

Where did you get these from?

(correct me if I'm wrong but I have a sneaky feeling they're of the new mini cooper S)

Looks pretty cool - kind of reminds me of an Aston Martin.....

Where did you get the polished intake pipe from - that looks really good.

Andy, wondered what you had been doing with yourself. The car looks great! See you also have a V8S now, how's it going? It would be good to see you at the Staffordshire meets, the S series are becoming a rarity in our region now.
