Got the S1 out for a blast in the sun yesterday after a month holed up, all was going well through the country lanes from the garage, got to a busy roundabout, indicated right and- nothing, not even a blip. managed to get home in one piece via about 6 roundabouts. I can indicate left with lights on full beam but no right whatsoever.
Any ideas or is it a full rewiring as pretty much every other electrical on the car.

Do the hazard lights work on both sides, front and back ??

If it was a duff connection to the front indicator, then the back would flash more rapidly than normal and vice versa..

You have power getting to the other indicators, so that shows it not a fuse and that you have 12v at the stalk. My money would be on the indicator stalk contacts or the connector block from the stalk..

Try dropping the steering cowl off and having a wiggle..

I'm with Neil on that. Had to change my stalks a while back.
Might be worth jiggling the wires to the appropriate fuse before you rush out and get a new set though.

Also check the multi-way connectors in front of the front wheels, they're interior grade connectors exposed to all the spray from the front wheels, and for some reason after a decade or so they seem to get a bit unreliable.

Hi guys, thanks for the input.
The hazards do not work either.
Are the stalks from a fiesta or an escort?? I recognise them but cannot remember which one.
Whilst i'm at it does anyone know what the interior light is from- I think that might be a fiesta also.

Mine were from a Fiesta I was told by the guy at the breakers, but they were exactly the same as the Escort at that time.
Can't tell you about the interior light but would expect it was from the same Ford...most else lighting wise seems to be!

If the Hazards don't work either then suspect it must be stalks.
Might as well change all 3 whilst you are about it if they are on the doner car. Mine were £5 each.
Good luck.

cheers tim

will do, may try and source some sort of upgrade whilst shes off the road.
Yet another question, will a set of ford sierra rear discs, calipers and pads bolt straight on or is it more complex.

Seem to remember past thread on this one, do a search and think you will find that it was a bit trickier than a straight swap.
Think general opinion was to stay with back drums and look further up the road to avoid hazzards but it was a spell ago!
