S Breaking for bits
Discussion
My old S has been condemned. The chassis is beyend sensible repair. It does have several useful bits though if anyone is interested.
Very good roof and panels less than a year old.
Gaz shocks and springs all fitted in 2005.
Reasonable condition seats.
Recon rear arms - different to later models though.
All new CV joints and rear whel bearings.
Ally rocker covers
Probably loads of other useful bits I am forgetting.
The car is with Universal Salvage at Sandtoft if anyone is interested.
I am just waiting for the Insurance payout and am deciding what will be my next toy!!

Call me stupid but if the ins company write of your car surely it belongs to them, unless you plan on buying back
It certainly does!! I have no intention of buying it back so this was just a note for anyone interested in the parts. Any conversations would need to be direct with Universal as they are the approved disposal contractor for my insurance co.
If I remember correctly, from the days when I owned a vehicle dismantlers, Universal Salvage don't actually dismantle cars. I think they auction vehicles off on behalf of the insurance companies for repair or dismantling dependant on the total loss classification. I could be wrong but suspect the entire car will be coming up for auction in the near future. If the car is deemed only fit for dismantling then only somebody within the trade and with the appropriate lisence will be able to purchase it however if it is classed as repairable then I believe anybody could buy it. I am sure the classifications will be explained somewhere on the universal salvage website, if anyone is interested in the car or parts of it I suggest you take a look there to find out the score.
