Removing waxoyl

Afternoon all,

Had the chassis sorted by Tower View over the last couple of weeks. New this and that, repaint and waxoyl. There is a some waxoyl overspay onto the cats and exhaust which is smoking a bit when everything is up to temperature. In fact it was smoking a lot when I pickied it up at the weekend!. I'm sure some of the bikers at The Ace thought it had caught fire when I dropped in for breakfast on Saturday!

I'm sure that a 50 mile blat will burn most of it off but is there a less 'toxic fumes' way of removing it? Obviously the usual method of scraping it is out but I'm a little wary about what (if any) chemical agent to use given the high operating temperatures of the parts in question.

Anyone else had experience of this?

I thought as much. Just wanted to check that there isn't some accepted method before trying out something myself and turning the thing into a bonfire once the exhausts heat up.

Problem is the next time I'll get to give it a really good run will be on the way to the MoT centre and turning up billowing smoke probably isn't going to do me any favours!!

Going to be there on Saturday 8th so I hope that you're not going to be in the office then! Might head down to The Ace on Friday 7th though so I'm going to have to use the White Spirit approach this Saturday.
