Creaking Door

The drivers door has started groaning at an embarassing volume every time it opens or shuts.It's always had a slight bit of play up & down if you lift the door(5mm ish movement).I've sprayed WD40 anywhere I can get at with no change. Any ideas before I pull the door off?

oil on the hinges.....check panels are not touching where the door meets the wing.

hinges dry - to lubricate properly remove door speaker and then via the aperture spray into front top and bottom corners - note that wd40 is not permanent and an oil spray would be better - 10 minute job

Finally managed to get the door interior off and as the bible says (remove the 7mm nut easily through the speaker hole with 7mm socket).Ha ha is that some sort of sick joke!!! The nut was sitting on 50mm of thread and I don't have the extra joint in my arm required!! Also managed to leave my mag light in the door, so at least I know where it is now.

where do I get a new astray from? I broke it whilst gently tugging it out.
Oh yes I almost forgot, the door is still groaning

Did you remember to replace the M4 nut with a wing nut...?

Makes panel removal much easier next time round... Reach up through the speaker hole and finger tight wing nut removal... Rather than socket or ring spanner.

The glass will be in the back of your hands for weeks.

Wait until you try the other door, cannot figure out why it's even more of a pain, and then discover they've used a 8mm nut on the other side!
