Not getting anything back from the search facility at the moment, can anyone tell me the part number of a replacement clutch slave cylinder for an 89 S2? Is there one which is a straight swap? I heard the original is from a Sherpa van, is this correct?
Also, what's the best place to get one from?

Many years ago I need a new one for my 1990 S3. Having had problems with the local motor factors before, I took the old with me. They had in stock a Lucas Girling one with the same part number cast into it, but luckily I checked it carefully and noticed the size of the threaded hole for the copper pipe was different. In the end I got it cheap and swapped the inards over, just finding the return spring had shattered on the old one. It was easy to swap and easier than trying to get a replacement from TVR or a dealer.

Oops, how did that get there twice? and I've just realised I'm talking about the clutch master rather than the slave, but the same might apply. In anycase my slave also gave me trouble once as the rubber boot had come adrift and grit had got inside preventing it from returning properly. A good clean out and it was fine.
Had to my slave and master last year. I found a downloadable PDF parts catalogue on RT Racing of Sheffield that helped. Altohough I got the correct parts, the slave went on OK, but the housing for the master was slightly different which meant we had to take the new insides out, and place them in the old housing - worked fine (the two housings were very similiar, but not exactly the same). my clutch has gone this week, pedal just moves freely with no tension behind it, think it might be master cylinder not sure? is this same as your problem, tvrparts.com are doing a replacement for £51 but i had a previous problem with them after getting a new exhaust, the strap was on back to front had to get someone out to reweld it cost £35 which they promised to refund and never did
