I have been invited to a test day at the local race track (Teretonga). The initial invite was to take my 1975 Johnston Formula Ford but this has now changed to take my S1. I have done plenty of laps in the Johnston but only about three slow laps in convoy in the S1. I need to know what tyre pressures I should start with. I am running 205 60/15 Bridgestone tyres. Can someone out there help me?

It'll depend on the type/condition of the tyre, and the track conditions, but as a starting point I would stick with your normal roadgoing hot pressure. So assuming you are normally running at around 22/24, you would probably get them warmed up and then let air out as necessary to keep them around 25/27. If you want to be conservative you could run them below that, it's no harm at all to keep them down at the 'cold' pressure.

Remember to pump them up after they have cooled down at the end of the day and if you let them cool down e.g. over the lunch break.
