Insuring my S3
Discussion
Hello all,
Officially became a TVR owner yesterday when I got the keys for my '90 S3
. I've spent tha last few days ringing round for insurance quotes and I have to say that I was alarmed by the variance in the price of policies.... Adrian Flux claimed they would have to charge me in excess of £1500 (!) and other quotes ranged from £350 - £550 a year. The last call I made however was to the RH Specialist Car Division who quoted £229. Their policy also included UK and European breakdown cover..... If you want to call them, their number is 01277 206911. They might be able to save you a few quid ?!
All I need now is for the sun to come out coz it's pouring down in Reading !!
Cheers,
IanM

You've upset me!!! £229 - and I'm paying £252!! What's going on????
I thought I had the cheapest insurance!!!!!
£229 - Can it get any lower???? Any body out there paying less than that, that is a 'TOP' price? I doubt it. If so tells us about it !!!!
I say non rip off companies need all the publicity, good on 'em
Congrats to RH Classic Insurance

Likewise RH classic insurance also INCLUDES breakdown recovery
My S is with Classic line as they offered Track Days.
The Alvis is with RH, used the recovery once - (Magneto failed - no sparks) good service, truck back from Malvern.
The Griff is with Mannings.
Thought I'd revive this thread cos it's renewal time for me
Received £240 renewal from Classic Line - basics were 3000 miles, £250 excess, UK breakdown extra £19.95, Euro breakdown extra £34.95.
Just phoned RH..... quoted me £210 with 5000 miles (£200 for 3000), £150 excess, AND UK & Euro breakdown included with recovery to garage of choice, not just the nearest one as is the case with some companies.
Thanks to Ian M for starting this thread!!

Weird i was looking for this thread earlier
Anyway its renewal time for me (classicline). So the renewal notice drops through the letter box same as last year
.So I rang them up to find out if i could get it any cheaper. It turns out that the insurance underwriters cocked up they quoted me for 3k miles not 5k miles but put limit of 5k on the policy. So and these are CL's words as it was the underwriters cockup the quote this year is for 5k miles but 3k price.I asked how long that will be for,the nice ladies reply "until you cancel", so seeking clarification i asked how long that actually was.Answer was surprising as its until i actually stop renewing
I tried A plan but even the bloke on the end said he doubt he'll get near CL we tried and just got to below £400
