Shocks S3c

One of my front shocks is broken, just before the APK (=Dutch MOT).
I have been looking around on the web as well as searching on this forum and found out there are a few possibilities: AVO, GAZ and Spax.
Most people seem to be happy with their AVO's or Gaz dampers, could not find user opinions on the Spax. Does anyone have experience with them?
Are the mounting point on all S-series cars the same? Mine is a S3c from 1991.

Why, Oh why didn't you use the search facility then we could have had at least an hour without the sales spiel postings, it does get to be a tad wearing
IMO this subject has become far too commercial on PH over the past year!

Yes, but rather than repeat the whole sad story here I suggest you do a search for "Spax", "Green V8S", "dangerously flawed" and "not fit for purpose".

Is that going to sneak under the 'naming and shaming' radar?
